I first met Vincent Reinders - one of the founders of 22tracks - in the spring of 2012 through my friend Da Vince. He made me discover the concept and expressed the desire that had 22tracks to start up in Paris. I went to meet the team and the founders in Amsterdam to discuss the possibility of launching the project in Paris - and here we are. That’s how 22Tracks was initially launched in Paris.
I enjoyed this first meeting because even though we launched an online concept, a physical encounter and "real" meeting between people was needed to seal the foundation for our collaboration. This human aspect of 22tracks, reflected in particular by the principle of curation, is now one of its main strengths. This is an essential value in an environment that is more paperless and online as things are today. Vincent explained the critical importance of curation in the project's success. I’m involved in soliciting local personalities with a real story or a strong activity in Paris - or as Vincent told me, “the local heroes". To ensure the durability of the project I also focused a lot on working with great people that you trust.
